Welcome to Hai Hai Channel! Today please go with us to explore the beautiful Smokey Hollow Loop, located along the scenic Niagara Escarpment in Waterdown, Ontario. Our adventure begins at the free parking area, where we immediately head toward the stunning Smokey Hollow Waterfall. The close-up view of the rushing waterfall sets the tone for a refreshing and peaceful hike surrounded by rocky cliffs, forest, and the sounds of flowing water. From there, we follow the main trail into the lush forest and continue onto the Norman Pearson Side Trail, connecting later with the McNally Side Trail. Along the journey, we experience quiet woodland paths, small bridges, and scenic sections of the Niagara Escarpment Niagara Escarpment that reveal the natural beauty of this protected landscape. The route also brings us briefly through connecting street sections, where charming cottage-style homes blend naturally into the forested surroundings, giving this hike a unique mix of nature and peaceful residential scenery. We then return toward the Bruce Trail, taking a detour along the Eric Best Side Trail loop. This section leads us to the upper Grindstone Creek, where flowing water and quiet forest views create a perfect ending to our adventure.
