This is a video introducing this year's Utsunomiya Technical High School soccer team. [Team Introduction] Celebrating its 102nd anniversary, our school is the prefecture's only "science and technology high school," with 953 students dedicated to their studies, school events, and club activities under the motto, "Each student represents the school." The soccer team, now in its 77th year, is a representative team of Tochigi Prefecture, having participated in the All Japan High School Soccer Championship seven times, with a record of third place. Its alumni include many renowned players and coaches, including Mexico City Olympic bronze medalist Ikuo Matsumoto and former J.League player Manabu Wakabayashi. This year, the team placed third in the rookie tournament, made it to the top eight in the Kanto Tournament and Inter-High School Championship preliminaries, and is currently competing in the first division, which is packed with strong teams. The 92 members of the team are divided into three teams, and under the guidance of qualified coaching staff, they enjoy soccer diligently and with a solid coaching system. Furthermore, it is noteworthy that, in keeping with the concepts of "true academic and athletic excellence" and "establishing a soccer culture," all third-year students have not retired and will continue to play until the league match in December. The team includes players who have been selected for training centers and the National Athletic Meet, and with three teams participating in league matches, the player pool has grown. One of the team's goals is to become a place for junior high school students who want to "play soccer at a prefectural high school."
