I traveled to the interior of Amazonas to experience the traditional Feast of Saint Anthony in the city of Borba, and I was surprised by everything I found there. The city was full of life, with many visitors, vendors, and faithful who came from various regions to participate in this great celebration of faith. The trip from Manaus to Borba took about 19 hours by boat, demonstrating the vast distances in the Amazon. Upon arrival, one of the challenges was disembarking, as the city's port is small to accommodate the large number of boats that arrive during the festival. Some boats had to dock in an improvised manner, but despite the difficulties, everything went safely and the visitors were able to continue their journey. Known as one of the largest religious events in the interior of Amazonas, the Feast of Saint Anthony brings together thousands of people every year. Many come to give thanks for blessings received, fulfill promises, and renew their faith. More than just a religious event, the festival also boosts the local economy and strengthens the region's cultural traditions.
