On this trip, I drove all the way around São Tomé. I started in the northeast, where the beaches are rocky and wild. Baobab trees grow here, and the roads leave much to be desired. Unfortunately, I had trouble with my car from the start, which I managed to swap while driving through the capital. Driving through the island, I noticed many abandoned buildings and cars swallowed up by the jungle. I decided to visit one of the abandoned plantations, where descendants of the slaves who worked there still live. I continued south.
