Leo here! How are you? In today's video, I'm sharing with you the intense behind-the-scenes of my second day of hospitalization at INCA (National Cancer Institute). Although the intravenous chemotherapy protocol hasn't started yet, the day was a real rollercoaster of emotions and complex medical procedures. The highlight of the day was my visit to the Interventional Radiology ward for the placement of the PICC (Peripherally Inserted Central Venous Catheter) in my arm, which is how I will receive all the treatment. What seemed simple turned into a 3-hour challenge: the doctors discovered that the veins in my chest and clavicle area have a reduced caliber or some anatomical obstruction. To get the access through, the team had to perform a meticulous procedure using a "balloon" to inflate the vein from the inside. It was tense, but the INCA team was fantastic and everything went well! To end the day perfectly and calm my heart, I managed to get transferred from the shared ward where I was to a private room, much larger and more comfortable. And the biggest surprise from God: I ended up in the exact same ward where my brother was hospitalized after donating bone marrow to me! The healing energy is already in this room.
