Much more interesting than that were the journeys we took through Feminism (where we managed to disagree with great flair), and Political Philosophy (where we disagreed again with tremendous class about the compatibility of Conservatism and Liberalism). We also talked about Post-Colonialism and the need for a depolarized conversation on the subject, and also about Taoism, where we both seemed to agree that the West had deified logic and reason and thus closed itself off to the possibility of contradiction as an acceptable phenomenon, both in the Cosmos and in our process of discovering it. Maria Castello Branco holds a degree in Political Philosophy from LSE, was a member of the Executive Committee of the Liberal Initiative, and was the IL's lead candidate for the Castelo Branco District in the 2019 legislative elections.
