Franki X — Gabe Howser's House [Full-Album Video]

So long, Gabe Howser! Franki X’s digital alter-persona and (in)famed Facebook sockpuppet profile account, Gabe Howser is a master of music, memes, and Melee. They tried to shadowban him (repeatedly)… but Gabe Howser always returns with a Waveshine to shitpost again! Gabe Howser’s House can be seen as a complimentary piece to Franki X’s previous (self-titled) album. Whereas Franki X was mostly comprised of original compositions with a few song covers thrown in for good measure, Gabe Howser’s House inverts the formula this time around. As a result, this album serves, in part, as Franki’s tribute to the music acts and records that have inspired him over the years. In a certain way, the songs he has chosen to cover also reflect his thoughts and feelings as a person, metaphorically representing the colors used to paint the soul of Franki X on the canvas of this full-length album project. Tracks for this compilation were sourced from multiple locations (and time periods). “The A Team,” “The Angry Video Game Nerd Theme Song,” “Reckless,” “Everyday,” “Free as a Bird,” “Never Gonna Give You Up,” “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” and “You’re Such a Tier Below (I Love It)” were all produced directly by Coucha, who has lovingly finished/remastered every song on this record. Franki’s work with his former band Hello Scientist, dating back to at least 2012, has been restored by Coucha from archived audio recordings and software project files to sound even better than it ever has! The remaining songs on the album have been taken straight from online social media platforms (due to the original recordings currently being inaccessible) and were further touched up as needed. If the artwork found throughout this album did not give it away, Franki’s other major passion in life (among other hobbies and interests) is the wonderful world of video games. From retro to modern, his appreciation for the history of the interactive digital medium has always bled into his other creative endeavors. Obvious video game inspiration went into “The Angry Video Game Nerd Theme Song” cover and “You’re Such a Tier Below (I Love It),” the latter being lyrically centered around the competitive scene of “Super Smash Bros. Melee.” Rewinding back to around the age of 12, Franki created a slew of humorous Mega Man -themed Internet comics using sprite images from the games. Later as a young adult, he hosted numerous successful in-person Super Smash Bros. live tournaments and public events, keen on helping to keep the local scene alive. Some say he can still be found on Final Destination to this very day. Hello Scientist’s core recording members were Francis Suarez (vocals, guitar, etc.), Flip Da Silva (vocals, guitar), Joseph D’Antuono (bass), and Vincent Sica (drums).
