Holistic solutions for spinal problems (IVDD) in dogs and cats

IVDD is a big problem in veterinary medicine but conventional medicine just offers drugs with side effects and surgery. Luckily, holistic medicine can easily cure this condition while addressing some of the main causes and thereby preventing future flare ups. Diet and physical therapy can help the spine stay healthy into old age even in dogs genetically predisposed to IVDD. If your dog experiences back problems for the first time, go to your veterinarian for diagnosis, change the diet if you can, find an acupuncture vet with experience treating IVDD. There is a window of a few months to help these dogs. After that, paralysis can be permanent. This video contains multiple videos of several patients to help you learn the differences between acute and chronic disc disease and understand not all cases of spinal disease are IVDD. Disc disease is extremely responsive with gentle chiropractic and acupuncture but spinal tumors are not, and through this video, you will see it's impossible to tell the difference clinically. An MRI would be required to diagnose IVDD conclusively, but at our holistic clinic, we have a policy of three treatments for all ataxic or paralyzed dogs or cats. Within this time frame, the diagnosis becomes obvious based on response to treatments. A spinal tumor does not improve but with a homemade, antioxidant-rich, anti-inflammatory diet (not kibble), PT, gentle chiropractic (if available) and acupuncture, these cases often improve within just a few sessions. The most severe cases can take up to eight session like Maggie, the rescued Dachshund in the photo.
