Walking Vimy Ridge Battlefield | Canada’s Greatest Victory

Join me as I visit Vimy Ridge, one of the most important battlefields of the First World War and a place many Canadians regard as their nation's finest hour. In April 1917, all four divisions of the Canadian Corps fought together for the first time and succeeded in capturing a heavily defended German position that previous attacks had failed to secure. During my visit, I explore the magnificent Canadian National Vimy Memorial, the visitor centre and museum, the underground tunnels used in preparation for the battle, and the preserved trench systems that still scar the landscape more than a century later. Along the way, I uncover the story of the battle, the sacrifices made by those who fought here, and why Vimy Ridge remains one of the most significant sites on the Western Front. If you enjoy battlefield tours, military history and First World War sites, please consider liking the video and subscribing to the channel. I'm just beginning my journey on YouTube and your support is greatly appreciated. Join me next time as I continue exploring the battlefields and memorials of France and Belgium.
