Mali–Bénin Communiqué final à l’issue de la visite du Président Romuald Wadagni à Bamako

The President of the Transition, Head of State of Mali, Assimi Goïta, received his Beninese counterpart, Romuald Wadagni, on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, for a friendly working visit to Mali. Upon his arrival in Bamako, the Beninese president was greeted with full protocol honors. The welcoming ceremony included the playing of the national anthems of both countries, as well as the presentation and greeting of the various dignitaries. The two heads of state then held an initial private meeting at the presidential pavilion of the airport before proceeding to the Koulouba Palace to continue their discussions. This visit is part of efforts to strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between Mali and Benin, as well as to coordinate discussions on major regional and sub-regional issues.
