The 85 paintings that open this show were supervised by John DeCuir Sr. — three-time Academy Award-winning art director of Cleopatra, The King and I, and South Pacific... and my grandfather. His son — my father, John DeCuir Jr., designer of Spaceship Earth alongside Ray Bradbury — joins me live for a third time to tell the story of three generations of one family who found their way into this room. And on this Friday night, the night before the Semiquincentennial, there is no one else I'd rather have in that chair. The faces change with every election. The arguing never stops.
