Ronen Steinke im Gespräch: „Vor dem Gesetz sind nicht alle gleich“

Who has the resources to obtain justice? Which individuals are trusted in cases of doubt? What discretionary powers exist within the legal system, and for whom are they (not) applied? These questions are often linked to the socioeconomic background of those affected. Why does this unequal treatment occur? What are the consequences for people who lack access to these privileges? And how can this inequality be addressed? At the invitation of the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality" at the University of Konstanz, the Konstanz District Adult Education Center (vhs Landkreis Konstanz e.V.), and the Konstanz Theatre, journalist and legal scholar Ronen Steinke explores these questions. Joining him in conversation are Rüdiger Wilhelmi, Professor of Civil Law at the University of Konstanz, and Christoph Reichert, Judge and President of the Konstanz Regional Court. The event, which took place on November 13, 2024, at the Cultural Center at the Minster in Konstanz, was moderated by Romana Lautner.
