To make matters worse, her scholarship is canceled the next day. Sara is desperate and directs all her hatred at Brooke. Then she meets Alex Layton (Madeline Zima) and begins a love affair with her. Alex is supported by her rich father David (John Stockwell), but her young stepmother Nina (Kate Levering) repeatedly interferes with her finances. Alex then proposes a deal to Sara that will solve all their problems: They each kill the other's enemy so that no suspicion can fall on them.
