Viés cognitivo na prática: o que um jogo de dados revela sobre você

Is it possible to train the brain to make better decisions? In this video, I, Daniel Martins de Barros, discuss how brilliant our minds are… but full of shortcuts that push us toward bad choices. I talk about cognitive biases such as the illusion of control, the gambler's fallacy, exaggerated fear of rare events (such as plane crashes or vaccine side effects), and our difficulty in dealing with probability and randomness. To illustrate all this in practice, I use the Panda Royale dice game from Devir publishing. Based on the different colors of dice — with risks, high gains, volatility, more conservative choices, and bolder decisions — we see how our decision-making style appears on the table: fear of losing, search for security, anticipatory regret, preference for quick gains or long-term gains. In the end, the idea is to show that, although chance never disappears, thinking in terms of statistics and probability helps to escape the traps of intuition and make more rational decisions in everyday life — whether in games, investments, work, or personal choices. Have you ever fallen into any of these traps? Tell us in the comments.
