It was effectuated to suppress those who wanted constitutional monarchy, and to crush those who stood against Jacobins government. That Reign of Terror was materialized through the Law of Suspect. All the suspects who were in contact with emigree and were hatching a plan to suppress revolutionaries were punished severely. King was also brought into the realm of trial through this law of suspect.
