HOW TO MAKE A PUMP DRILL | using basic Bushcraft tools

In this video I show how to make a pump drill, for friction fire lighting using only a knife a saw and some paracord. A pump drill is a novel way of lighting a fire by friction, it works on a very similar principle to the bow drill or hand drill, where you spin one piece of wood into another to generate friction and heat. There are many ways you can make a pump drill depending on what tools you have available you could make really fancy ones. The pump drill I make in this video isn't fancy, its actual very rustic, but i wanted to show you that if you wanted to make one while in the woods then all you need are basic bushcraft tools such as a bushcraft knife and folding saw which most of us take in to the woods with us.
