We're traveling along Sri Lanka's south coast in our tuk-tuk! The original plan was: surf, surf, surf – but no matter where we went, the lineups were completely packed. So, change of plans. 📍 Hiriketiya A few relaxing days in one of the most beautiful bays on the south coast. Besides surfing, you can really unwind here or snorkel at nearby Blue Beach. 📍 Midigama Next stop: the quieter, less-traveled area around Weligama and Mirissa. Here, we say goodbye to the tuk-tuk – instead, we explore the area by scooter. 📍 Unawatuna Our last stop surprises us with Cyclone Ditwah. Luckily, we don't experience much of it, apart from strong winds. A trip to Galle Fort is still a must, of course. Departure The train journey from Galle to Colombo is an absolute highlight in terms of scenery and we can definitely recommend it. The departure itself? Unfortunately, it didn't go at all as planned… you can see all the stress in the video. Our conclusion about Sri Lanka's south coast: Quite nice – but definitely not a highlight of the trip for us.
