Ford Ranger (2025-2026) - Fuse Box Locations & Diagrams
This video covers fuse box locations on Ford Ranger for 2025 and 2026 model years. Second-generation Ranger (T6.2 platform) with SuperCrew cab configuration. Trims: XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor. Engines: 2.3L EcoBoost I4 (270hp, 310 lb-ft), 2.7L EcoBoost V6 (315hp, 400 lb-ft, optional XLT/Lariat), 3.0L EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo (405hp, 430 lb-ft, Raptor only). All paired with 10-speed automatic transmission. Three fuse locations. Slightly more complex than F-150. Engine Compartment Power Distribution Box - left side of engine bay. High-current fuses protecting main electrical systems. Has fuses on bottom side requiring special access procedure. Battery Fuse Box - attached directly to positive battery terminal. Contains high-current fuses. If these need replacement, dealer visit recommended. Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel - below and outboard of steering column behind access cover. Interior electronics and lighter-load circuits. Accessing bottom fuses on engine compartment box: 1. Release two latches on both sides 2. Raise rear side from cradle 3. Move toward rear of engine compartment and rotate 4. Pivot rear side to access bottom 5. Release two latches to open cover 2025-2026 carryover model. Minimal changes between years - new exterior colors (Avalanche for 2026), approximately $1,000 MSRP increase, fixed rear window with defroster now standard on XLT, SiriusXM 360L with 3-year subscription standard. Engine compartment controls: Headlights, cooling fans, wipers, fuel pump, turbocharger systems, trailer brake controller, auxiliary power points (instrument panel, center console rear, rear cargo area), Pro Power Onboard (400W in-bed inverter optional). Passenger compartment controls: SYNC 4A infotainment (10.1" or 12" touchscreen depending on trim), wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, FordPass Connect with 4G LTE, power seats (10-way driver, 8-way passenger on XLT+), heated seats, climate control, power moonroof (optional), Ford Co-Pilot360 (Pre-Collision Assist, BLIS with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane-Keeping System). Raptor-specific fusing: FOX Racing Shocks with Live Valve Technology, Watts-Link rear suspension, Baja Mode and Rock Crawl drive modes, 360-degree camera system, zone lighting, LED bed lighting. FX4 Off-Road Package (XLT/Lariat): Off-road-tuned shocks, all-terrain tires, Trail Control, electronic-locking rear differential. Additional fuses for these systems in engine compartment box. Troubleshooting: The bottom-access fuses on engine compartment box... people hate this design. You need to physically move the entire fuse box to get at fuses underneath. Follow the procedure or you'll break mounting tabs. Battery fuse box is separate unit attached to positive terminal. High-current fuses protect alternator output and main power distribution. If one blows, you're looking at major electrical failure. Don't mess with these unless you know what you're doing. 2.3L EcoBoost is standard engine across XL/XLT/Lariat. Solid workhorse. Turbocharged means boost control solenoid, wastegate actuator, intercooler - all electrical components with dedicated fusing. 2.7L V6 optional on XLT/Lariat adds more power for towing. Same 10-speed transmission, different engine control fusing. If shopping used, know which engine you have when troubleshooting. 3.0L twin-turbo Raptor exclusive. Race-tuned, dual turbos, more complex engine management. Fuses for turbo control, intercooler pumps, all that performance hardware. SYNC 4A system is major upgrade from older SYNC 3. Wireless connectivity standard, over-the-air updates, FordPass integration. Infotainment fuses in passenger compartment panel. Screen freezes or goes dark? Check there first. Pro Trailer Backup Assist - class-exclusive feature. Makes backing up trailers actually manageable. Relies on cameras, sensors, trailer brake controller. Multiple fuses involved across both engine and cabin boxes. Integrated box side step (optional) - power-operated step that deploys from bed rail. Convenient but adds another electrical component. Dedicated fuse and motor. Trail Control (FX4 package) - off-road cruise control essentially. Manages acceleration and braking on rough terrain. Five drive modes. All electronic, all need proper fusing. Commercial use - Ranger sees duty as work truck and personal vehicle. If adding aftermarket equipment (toolboxes, bed racks, auxiliary lighting), wire properly. Don't just tap into random circuits. Battery disconnect before electrical work. On turbocharged engines especially - don't create voltage spikes that can damage boost control systems.
