Most privacy fences look great on one side but have an "ugly side" on the back. And a standard box-shadow fence looks good on both sides, but the problem is… they're not very private. If someone stands at the right angle, they can see straight through. So I designed a variation that maintains the clean, modern look on both sides, and increases privacy - without needing a full double-picket fence. I'll show you why I chose a 1⅝" spacing, how I designed the overlap on the back to reduce visibility, and how to plan your fence so the spacing looks perfect across a long run.
