Marcos Jr. warmly welcomed His Excellency Lee Lipton, Ambassador of the United States of America to the Philippines, during the presentation of credentials at the Reception Hall in Malacañan Palace on June 30, 2026. The meeting marked another milestone in the enduring partnership between the Philippines and the United States, building on 80 years of diplomatic relations and the 75th anniversary of the Mutual Defense Treaty. It reaffirmed the two nations’ long-standing alliance and their shared commitment to peace, stability and mutual prosperity. President Marcos Jr. and Ambassador Lipton exchanged views on key priorities, including economic cooperation, defense and security, maritime affairs, regional developments and the Philippines’ Chairship in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).
