New UK oil and gas fields ruled unlawful in climate legal battle
Consent for two new Scottish oil and gas fields was granted unlawfully - an Edinburgh court has ruled - after a case brought by environmental campaigners. (Subscribe: https://bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe) The written judgement means that the owners of the Rosebank and Jackdaw fields will have to get approval from the UK government again, before they can begin extracting any oil or gas.
