Lasse Lindgren Interview

Bobby and I recently interview the amazing Swedish trumpeter Lasse Lindgren. He’s been a member of many notable European big bands including Bohuslän Big Band, Swedish Radio Jazz Orchestra, Sandviken Big Band, Danish Radio Big Band and many others. He’s performed with such luminary artists as Maria Schneider, Bob Brookmeyer to name just a couple. Lasse now primarily performs with his own jazz groups and big band. He also has numerous recordings out that feature his exciting and high energy music. Lasse has also revived the Ullvén Mute company which has a long history. These mutes have been played by such notable artists as Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Jon Faddis and many others. In this interview Lasse discusses how he got started on trumpet, how he gets his playing into shape for the gruelling gigs he does, his recordings as well as some insight into his mute company.
