So i had the feeling of guilt when i couldn't balance my work and house chores. i used to blame myself and ask me to go back to those days when i was a child and mom used to be with us 24 hrs. we atleast some of us have been conditioned with the fact that mothers are supposed to be with their children, 24hrs. Even if they work, they were blamed for keeping help at home. I don't know why, but our culture needs women to be machines. I spoke to my counsellor on this guilt. Me : I feel bad to not spent more quality time with my kids like how my mom used to be with me and brothers. She never worked. She was a full time homemaker. The point that he mentioned next made that guilt flush away. Counsellor : You are blessed to have such a mother. But now you earn and is capable of buying things that your kids ask you. Was your mother capable of this? Had you ever asked your mom to buy at least a chocolate? So be happy that you are able to what your mom wasn't capable of. So i happily work nowadays and I have my husband who supports me in the house chores. there are days when we women feel low or angry for some reason, or may be for no reason. And am no less. On such days, i go off and be a couch potato. So it's okay to have such days and it's your me time. My husband never gets irritated when the house in not clean, when the sink is full with dishes or even for not cooking. He knows i need a break. So that's how we manage to balance and support each other. this doesn't happen overnight. it takes time, but it works. It's true that i fly leaving my kids with my husband and vice versa. So when either one of them is away for work or leisure, kids will be with the other parent. Hope you enjoyed this video.
