Do we have any regrets about retiring early, what would we do differently and how has it affected our relationships: we’re sharing an honest and personal look at our journey. For us, retirement wasn’t about escaping work- it was about embracing freedom, flexibility, and the opportunity to design a life centred around what truly matters. After a series of life changing and traumatic experiences in 2021, we took the leap into a new chapter filled with travel, meaningful experiences, and a slower, more intentional pace of life. Like many, we faced doubts and uncertainties along the way, but the rewards have been life-changing. We retired from teaching at the age of 51 in the summer of 2022.
