The fight for public land: White Rock
The locked gate on Ngapotiki Road was what got me involved in the fight to protect access to the coast beyond Cape Palliser. You may have seen my previous videos on that particular issue or one of the numerous news stories about the fight to stop an illegal closure. The issue here is a locked gate on a formed public road. This is not meant to be anything against the adjacent landowner - I completely understand the desire for privacy - however, we must protect our access to public land or we risk losing it forever.
