The AC unit consists of an indoor and outdoor unit. Its operation is simple: to cool the air, it draws it in through a section of the indoor unit, passes it through filters, passes through the cold evaporator, and then expels it through the turbine, cooling the entire room to the set temperature. They spend hours and hours, and many days, running. The air and the room contain suspended dust that accumulates on the filters and evaporator. If maintenance is not performed, this dust, when combined with the water generated by the heat-cold exchange, creates a "slime" that gradually clogs the drain. If too much time passes, the filters become dirty, and ice can form (for other reasons as well). The water then begins to drip down the outside of the unit, falling drop by drop, depending on what's underneath: furniture, parquet flooring, etc. Once the drain is clogged, we must unclog it before we run into water-related problems: stains on the wall, mildew on the paint, swollen furniture wood, beds, flooring, deteriorated parquet flooring, etc. While we decide to do a thorough cleaning, it's all about the bare minimum: unclogging... We can fix it simply by inserting a small plastic guide from the drain outlet, trying to unclog it, and then pouring water through the evaporator... once we see that the water is flowing smoothly, we'll have unclogged the blockage. Or with a tube and a coupling, we can blow and unclog the pipe (never vacuum). This time, we'll need to protect everything nearby, as water will flow out of the pipe and could stain anything next to or underneath. Okay, let me show you the tools.
