I Choose to Trust the God I Cannot See (Paul & Jacinda Stetler)

"Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, just to take Him at His Word." Want [lack] of faith weakens God. Pardon the word, but want of faith puts bolt and bar against God's grace. Mark says God could not do many works for the people's unbelief. The father of the demoniac said to Christ, "If thou canst do." Christ said to him, "If thou canst believe." —Clerk For what ends, then, does God permit spiritual heaviness to befall so many of his children? The apostle gives a plain and direct answer to this question. "These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold--though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world." (I Peter 1:7). —John Wesley O Lord, may I believe in the darkness When all hope is vanished, When waves beat with fury And no star lights my sky. May I believe without Feeling or knowing or proving Till one shiny moment when You shatter the darkness And all I believed for Is suddenly mine. —Ruth Harms Calkin https://www.lebanongmc.com/
