A fire broke out Thursday night on the 11th block of Huancavelica Street in downtown Lima, affecting two homes and causing alarm among residents. The fire particularly damaged a prefabricated structure located on the second floor of one of the houses. Sixteen fire units arrived at the scene, and firefighters worked for several hours to control the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings. The affected area borders a school, which increased residents' concerns. Commander Marcos Pajuelo reported that both homes suffered total material losses.
