For the first time in history, BMW introduced the M340i in the Indian market and the performance sedan is assembled at the Chennai plant to keep costs down. The M340i was first introduced in March 2021 and the first batch has been sold out within a day, while the second batch came in July and it too had sold out. The performance sedan is currently at the top of the 3 Series range but the full blow M3 will come soon. The exterior changes to the M340i are minor as the front gets tweaked grille along with a new front and rear bumper while the interior gets some new textures. The M340i is powered by a 3.0-litre four-pot turbo petrol mill, which develops 387bhp of peak power at 5,800rpm and 500 Nm of peak torque at 1,850-5,000rpm. This engine is mated to 8-speed automatic gearbox and it is priced at Rs. 62.90 lakh (Ex-Showroom).
