The Truth About Godzilla Fan Films

Over the years, we’ve seen countless fan films for massive franchises like Star Wars, Marvel, DC, and even horror IPs like Halloween. These are projects created by fans for fans and I absolutely adore them. What makes fan films fascinating is the passion and creativity that fans pour into these projects. Despite lacking the resources and budget of professional studios, fan filmmakers are usually able to demonstrate impressive skill and dedication. Fan films provide an opportunity for budding filmmakers to express their love for a franchise in a meaningful way as well as being able to tell stories from established universes the way they want to tell them. But, why aren’t there any Godzilla fan films? It’s not like there aren’t any fans of the Big G. Is it too expensive or is it something else behind the scenes that prevents these projects from ever seeing the light of day?
