How to Replace a Mazda2 Serpentine Belt in Under 10 Minutes

Today, I am going to walk you through the process of replacing a serpentine belt on my 2011 Mazda2 The serpentine belt or "accessory belt" is a rubber ribbed belt that connects and assists in powering the vehicles: power steering, alternator, and air conditioner units. An integral component to every combustible engine-powered vehicle that is needed for necessary drive function. Replacing a belt is a vital part of preventative maintenance for a vehicle as it provides the noisiest warning before its eventual failure (squealing due to slipping of the belt). If the belt is neglected to be changed it could leave you with a loss of steering capability and a stalled vehicle due to the inability to charge itself through the alternator. Replacing the belt is a relatively easy task on most if not all vehicles as they were designed to be replaced at some point or another. It involves locating the Auto tensioner or locating a tension adjusting point, loosening and removing the belt from the pulley layout, reconfiguring the new belt into the same pattern, and tightening the tensioner with the belt in the proper position.
