What does a beginner drummer ACTUALLY, REALLY need to spend his time practicing? It’s certainly not a ridiculously hard rudiment. As a matter of fact, the central point of this video is to AVOID “drowning yourself” in rudiments as a novice player. There are certain, core basics that every drummer needs to be super solid at. These are things that every beginner needs to learn, every intermediate player needs to revisit, and every advanced player knows to be essential to great drumming. These are the things you can practice every day, knowing that you will use what you’re practicing. Let’s practice the things that are most relevant to 99% of drumming.
