Green Corridors, Shared Futures: Australia-Indonesia Collaboration in the Clean Energy Transition

Hosted by Australian Awards in Indonesia, this online guest lecture by Dr Denny Gunawan from School of Chemical Engineering, UNSW Sydney will discuss how the Indo-Pacific region, which accounts for half of global energy use and hosts most of the world’s population, is central to global climate progress. The session will also explore the challenges of clean energy supply chains, including their current concentration and the importance of diversification. Dr Gunawan will highlight how Australia and Indonesia are well positioned to support a more resilient energy transition. Australia brings strong renewable energy resources, advanced technologies and supportive policy frameworks. Indonesia offers large market potential, growing industrial demand, a strategic location and significant reserves of critical minerals, particularly nickel. The session will include a Q&A and interactive quizzes.
