TRIBUN-TIMUR.COM, MAKASSAR - The South Sulawesi Provincial Government (Pemprov) received an injection of social assistance from the Ministry of Social Affairs. This assistance was distributed by Commission VIII of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) during a specific working visit to the South Sulawesi Governor's Office on Jl. Urip Sumoharjo, Makassar City, South Sulawesi, on Thursday (June 25, 2026). This social assistance was handed over by the Head of the Commission VIII DPR RI Specific Working Visit Team, Erwin Aksa, to the Head of the South Sulawesi Social Service (Dinsos) Abdul Malik Faisal in the Leadership Meeting Room. The total social assistance provided was IDR 544,832,438,252, or IDR 544 billion. "Currently, Commission VIII has allocated around Rp 500 billion in aid for social protection in South Sulawesi Province and Makassar City. Hopefully, it will be beneficial, utilized by residents, distributed effectively, and on target," explained Erwin Aksa, wearing a black suit. The Rp 544 billion in aid was distributed to various agencies in South Sulawesi. First, Rp 1,319,598,000 was allocated for disaster logistics bufferstock to the South Sulawesi Provincial Social Service. Then, Rp 254,598,000 was allocated for the socio-economic empowerment program in Makassar City to 56 Beneficiary Families (KPM). Third, Rp 157,318,000 was allocated for the Disaster Alert Village (KSB), TMS, and Lumsos in Tamalanrea District, Makassar City. Fourth, Rp 289,129,800,000 was allocated for the South Sulawesi provincial basic food aid program for the April, May, and June periods. The five Family Hope Program (PKH) assistance programs for South Sulawesi Province for the April, May, and June periods totaled Rp 240,636,750,000. Next, Social Rehabilitation Assistance (ATENSI) assistance at the Wirajaya Center in Makassar totaled Rp 4,782,550,000. Then, ATENSI assistance at the Gau Mabaji Center in Gowa totaled Rp 4,124,147,649. Finally, ATENSI assistance at the Pangurangi Center in Takalar totaled Rp 4,427,387,993. Erwin Aksa requested that agencies receiving assistance use the funds within the scope of social programs. "I think the distribution will continue to be improved, with transparency and accountability, and of course, we also hope for improvements in human resources," said Erwin Aksa. "Once again, the budget and attention from the central, provincial, and regional governments must continue to be a priority in social programs," he continued. Meanwhile, the Head of the South Sulawesi Social Services Agency, Abdul Malik Faisal, is ready to use the funds according to central government directives. "We hope that social programs in South Sulawesi will be well-targeted, accountable, and beneficial to the community," explained Abdul Malik. He is also ready to distribute the aid to the eligible recipients.
