I’m really excited to share this new series with you. I thought it was nice to give you a closer look at the many different scales that exist and what makes each of them special. Some of them connected with me instantly, others took time. But all of them have their own voice and story. There’s honestly no better way to start this new series than with my beloved D Aegean 18, which many of you probably know as it is my most viral scale. Funny enough, it wasn’t love at first sight. When I first got it, I didn’t really connect with it. It sat in my home for several months without being played at all. And then one day, something just clicked. I can’t even fully explain what changed, but suddenly everything flowed. The more I played it, the more it opened up. It felt natural and very inspiring. From that moment on, it completely won me over. This scale has such a strong character. It’s super expressive, with a slightly darker and more emotional mood. It has depth, it leaves space. And what I love most is how versatile it is. There are so many melodic possibilities, so many little corners to explore. Every time I play it, I feel like I find something new. Looking back, it’s crazy to say, but this scale really changed my life in many ways. It influenced my sound, my creativity and definitely the direction of my work. I’m really happy to start this journey with you through this series, and I can’t wait to share more scales and stories with you soon.
