Berkó: Village Music from Transylvania (Album)

"Music is beautiful when it's sweet" -Sándor Fodor "Neti" This album was produced in celebration of the Berkó Band's 10th Anniversary in 2007. The members were students of the music traditions of the Romanians, Hungarians and Romani from Transylvania, Romania. Their teachers Sándor Csoóri, Lányi György, Pál Havasréti, Péter Éri and others who built the foundation of the Hungarian Táncház (Dance House) era, encouraged the members of Berkó to take expeditions and learn first hand the ethnic music from village musicians within Hungary and beyond it's borders. I also wanted to publish this in dedication to my Father on his 61st birthday. I remember the days, nearly 20 years ago now, when he would play the music from this album. Particular songs such as Track 4, "Megyek Az Úton" have a special place in my heart.
