CH.4 Magnetic field due to circular loop

1. When an electric current flows through a circular loop of wire, it produces a magnetic field around it. According to the Biot–Savart Law, the magnetic field lines combine at the center of the loop, creating a strong magnetic field perpendicular to the plane of the loop. The magnitude of the magnetic field at the center of a circular loop is: B= μI/2R. at center Where: B = Magnetic field at the center μ₀ = Permeability of free space I = Current flowing through the loop R = Radius of the circular loop For a loop with N turns: The direction of the magnetic field is determined by the Right-Hand Thumb Rule. If the fingers curl in the direction of current, the thumb points in the direction of the magnetic field at the center of the loop. This concept is widely used in electromagnets, electric motors, generators, and many electromagnetic devices.
