Töppers manages to delay Stefano's departure for Italy by enlisting him to help with Jakob's impromptu outdoor Christmas party. Töppers also arranges a meeting between Tanja and Stefano. The Marienhof residents make the best of the power outage and celebrate together at the Christmas market. As everyone reverently sings "Silent Night," Anne sees Tanja and Stefano holding hands, deeply moved. Constanze feels excluded by the Marienhof residents. However, Jakob includes her in the impromptu Christmas celebration without prejudice. Constanze realizes the social standing Jakob now enjoys in Marienhof. To improve her own image, Constanze decides to try and win Jakob over. Jessy heard Carlos's love message on a cassette tape and immediately heads back to Marienhof. She drives off the road and crashes her car. Unconscious, she's in danger of freezing to death inside. Carlos senses something's wrong and sets out to find her… To impress Jakob, Constanze stocks up on books about development aid and gets a spot in the Daily News. When Jakob sees her with the books after work and learns she's planning a school project week on the topic, he kindly invites her over. She goes to his place in high spirits, only to be shocked to discover that Jakob has chosen Sandra as his collaborator. The Maldini family celebrates Christmas together. Although the atmosphere is somewhat strained, there's reason to hope for reconciliation. And indeed, the next morning, Anne and Toni find Stefano and Tanja cuddled up together on the sofa. But Tanja makes it clear to Stefano that she needs more time. So Stefano stays at Marienhof, but continues to live alone in the guesthouse. Then Tanja calls him. Carlos goes looking for Jessy and finds her motionless in the wrecked car. Horrified, he takes her to the hospital. There he soon learns that Jessy only has a severe concussion. He's relieved, but tormented by the question: will Jessy ever love him again? When she wakes up, Carlos blames himself for everything. But Jessy just wants to be kissed by the man she loves…
