I started on the beach at sunset, which was absolutely packed and looking better than it has in a long time, then waited for dark and headed into the back streets to see what the night trade is really like. What I found was a Kuta of two halves, with some parts buzzing and others eerily quiet. I walk you through both so you can judge for yourself. Kuta was my first love in Indonesia and you never forget your first love.
