Free Waldorf Painting Lesson: 3rd Grade | Wet On Wet | Simply Waldorf
Try out this free Waldorf painting lesson for third grade and see how simple and easy painting can be for your homeschool child. This lesson is for parents and teachers in any educational setting who want to bring painting to third graders. What you will learn: --How to work with the materials: wet paper, watercolors, brush, painting rag/sponge. --How to guide paintings through a "color story" process. --How support the creative process so that children feel joyful and at ease rather than stressed and/or disappointed. --How to review artwork in ways that support openness and imagination rather than judgment and critique, thus fostering a child's sense of self and accomplishment in a positive way. --To understand that the way we teach any subject, even watercolor painting, can support the second grader in ways far beyond the activity of painting, because you will begin to see this process on a deeper level In first and second grade painting, the color story process is the primary element. It builds the foundation of comfort, confidence, and ability. In third grade, as you can see and hear in this video lesson example, we use a similar color process to set up the painting and then we learn how to gradually create more and more forms. In this lesson, I demonstrate how we can create a lovely collection of carrots. Yum! We’d love to hear from you. Please leave comments!
