How to grow Almond Trees - in the UK

Often prized as only blossom tree, but have you thought about growing it for its deliciously sweet and oily nuts? They ripen late in the Autumn, emerging from furry capsules that look like small peaches, to which this tree is closely related. It's mid-October and Rob gets excited harvesting his fourth crop of beautiful sweet nuts in their furry capsules from one of the forest garden's two resident 'Ingrid' almond trees. Cultivation is reasonably straightforward, but to get the best from an almond tree you must give careful consideration to siting, for this isn’t a tree you can plant just anywhere and expect it to thrive.
