Super low cost prosthetic leg using 3D scan and print technology in the Philippines
In the Philippines, the price of a prosthetic leg is over 200 USD which is unaffordable for the needing people in poor. SHC Design Incorporated, a Japanese social entrepreneurial tech venture, uses 3D scanner and 3D printer to create prosthetic leg with much cheaper price. They prepared specially made soft material, user-friendly original software, and the specially made 3D printer assembled by locally available parts. FabLab can be the place to produce the prosthetic leg. This innovative solution will encourage the people needing prosthetic leg with affordable price, and then the world will be changed !!!
