Fire plough - fire plow - recommended woods for learning uk

Recommended woods for learning fire plough 1- Tilia on Tilia (English Lime / Linden / basswood) - produces strong ember relatively easily. This is best combination I have found in UK. This is large leaf lime. 2 - Willow on Tilia - works just as well as Tilia on Tilia 3 - Hazel on Poplar (cottonwood) - slightly more effort needed than Tilia. Poplar not as common in uk as Lime 4 - Poplar on Poplar - poplar works well on itself on par with hazel Willow on ivy and willow on willow can also work but I don’t recommend for learning as can be finickity.
