We drive the spectacular single-track road through the Ardnamurchan peninsula to a stunning campsite right on the coast, pitch the tent with sea views, and try our luck fishing off the rocks below camp (spoiler: the fish win round one). On the way in we spot wild red deer and even find red deer antlers for sale at the roadside. Then it's off to Sanna Bay, a gorgeous white sand beach sitting in the remains of an ancient volcano, and we have it entirely to ourselves. We swim, explore the rock pools, watch a seal watching us, and finally catch a pollock off the rocks before heading home.
