Mary Ann Nichols was murdered on Buck's Row in Whitechapel, London, in the early hours of the morning on Friday 31 August 1888; the first of a series of five 'canonical murders' that would come to be known as the 'Whitechapel Murders.' The killer, who we know now as 'Jack the Ripper,' was never identified.
