Helenenmarsch (Friedrich Lübbert) live - Preußischer Marsch von 1857 - Bundeswehr Musikkorps

The Helen March (Armeemarsch II, 127 (173)) was composed in 1857 by the Prussian military musician Friedrich Lübbert (1818–1892). The march was originally entitled Black and White after the Prussian national colors; it is rarely used under this title today. The Helenenmarsch was the traditional march (troop march) of the 25th Tank Artillery Battalion of the Bundeswehr. Later he served as such u. a. the 2012 dissolved army command in Koblenz. Today it is the troop march of the Bundeswehr Center for Geoinformation in Euskirchen. The Helenenmarsch achieved a certain level of notoriety in Germany in the 1970s because Loriot chose it as the music for his cabaret portrayal of Grandpa Hoppenstedt in the Christmas sketch.
