Jigging in the Kihoku area in northern Wakayama Prefecture. Targeting bluefish such as yellowtail, Japanese amberjack, and Japanese amberjack, as well as red sea bream, our fishing advisor is Katsuya Mukaibayashi of Shout. The fishing spot is around 40m deep. The basic approach is to drop a metal jig weighing around 100g to the bottom and add some action to lure the fish. First, we caught a gurnard at the bottom. We then caught red sea bream ranging from over 30cm to 50cm. We caught bluefish ranging from fatty yellowtail to yellowtail-sized fish, and our jigging was going great. However, for some reason, Mukaibayashi, the main angler, only caught red sea bream and red sea bream. Will he be able to catch any bluefish?
