MRT 4 Project Update MRT Line 4 is the upcoming elevated rail line that will run along Ortigas Avenue from the EDSA–Ortigas junction (Mandaluyong/Quezon City) out to Taytay, Rizal — about 12.7 to 15.6 km with 10–11 stations. Key details • Route: Starts at EDSA-Ortigas, passes Ortigas East, Rosario, Cainta, and ends near the New Taytay Public Market/Taytay Depot. • Type: Originally planned as a monorail, it was revised in 2022 to a conventional heavy-rail metro to carry more passengers. • Purpose: Ease the notorious Ortigas traffic, cutting a 1–3 hour road trip to under 30 minutes by rail. • Capacity: Projected ridership around 330,000–400,000 passengers per day by 2030. • Cost: Estimated ₱87–100 billion (roughly US1.1–1.8 billion). • Funding: Backed by a US1 billion loan from the Asian Development Bank, with co-financing from the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank. • Timeline: Detailed engineering design ongoing (targeted finish late 2025–mid 2026). Construction is now expected to start in 2026, with full operations aimed for 2031. Right-of-way work is underway  It’ll connect with MRT-3 at EDSA and is being planned for integration with the Metro Manila Subway and bus/jeepney routes.
