During the late 1800s, thousands of miners came here searching for silver, gold, lead, copper, and zinc. At its peak, Eureka was one of Utah's wealthiest communities, complete with banks, hotels, churches, opera houses, electric lights, and a railroad. Today, many of those historic buildings still stand, making Eureka one of the best-preserved mining towns in Utah.
