THE PROPHETIC SAYING: "ALI IS FROM ME" IS MORE THAN A PERSONAL AFFECTION

The Noble Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (s), is known to have said, "Ali is from me, and I am from Ali, and he is the master of the believers after me." This statement is often interpreted as a demonstration of the Prophet's love for Amir al-Mu'mineen (a.s). However, it’s crucial to recognize that the Prophet’s words are not merely expressions of affection; they carry deeper significance as stated in the noble Quran [53:3-4]. The first part of this saying highlights the close relationship between the Prophet and Ali, which is understandable. Yet, the second part presents an important idea that suggests the Prophet himself is linked to Ali in a significant way. This implies that both the Prophet and Ali share essential qualities needed for a divine leader, meaning there’s a strong reason for the Prophet to make such a profound statement about his cousin.
